The Love, Candy & Cupcakes Blog Hop - My Favourite Romantic Movie

Hi! Welcome to the Love, Candy & Cupcakes Blog Hop to celebrate the Valentine's weekend.

We're talking all things romantic and asking you to comment on this post and share your favourite romantic moments - real or from books or films - to be in with a chance to win a free ebook copy of my contemporary romance novel If You Only Knew.

So, the theme of this blog hop is favorite romantic books or movies. I don't think I have a favourite romantic book because there are too many great books I've read and loved. So, I'll opt for sharing my favourite romantic film with you instead.

Whilst I adore the romantic classics such as The Notebook, the film which tops my list is The Vow.

If you've seen this film you'll understand why I love it so much.

If you haven't seen it then I highly recommend grabbing a copy of the DVD, getting comfy on the sofa with some nice food and drink and losing yourself for an hour or so in movie magic.

The film is about a young married couple who are involved in a car accident. The woman is seriously injured and when she wakes up in hospital she doesn't recognise her husband at all. She has no memories of him, their relationship or their life together.

BUT she can remember every detail of her life before she met him. Confused she tries to spend time with her husband in the hope she'll get 'their' memory back. The husband tries all he can to help her but the path to recovering their togetherness is long, complicated and seems impossible.

There are some brilliant moments of romance and comedy wrapped up in some tense dramatic scenes.

What else can I say about The Vow? Well, it's based on a true story and it stars the delightful Rachel McAdams and the super handsome Channing Tatum.

What are you waiting for? Go! Go get your copy now and enjoy a romantic comedy which will bring tears to your eyes and put a smile on your face.

Please let me know your favourite romantic moments - real or from books or films - I’d love to hear from you, simply leave a comment below to be in with a chance of winning a copy of my novel If You Only Knew!

About the book you could win:

IF YOU ONLY KNEW

Keeping secrets is asking for trouble.
Faith isn't looking for love. Not anymore. So why is she so intrigued by Zane and his secrets?
Zane, the new co-owner of the Carrdale Extreme Sports Centre, has put everything into his business. He doesn't have the time, or the heart, for relationships.
When Faith and Zane meet there’s a spark they’re both struggling to ignore. Are they each prepared to take the risk and allow themselves to get involved?
Then Matt arrives in town to complicate things even further.
Matt is Zane’s business partner and his best friend.
He’s also Faith’s first love.
With Zane keeping secrets and Matt up to no good Faith’s reminded why letting a man into her life is asking for trouble.

But what if one of them turns out to be the love of her life?

One of my most memorable couples is in Pushing Daisies when Ned brings Chuck back to life in that first episode; I thought his love for her was so genuine and sweet.

    1. Hi Lynn, Yes, The Notebook is amazing. I love that scene near the end where the two main characters are arguing next to her car and saying how much they annoy each other but at the same time love each other.

    1. Hi Elisa, yes You've Got Mail is a lovely feel good film which doesn't seem to date. Some films look 'old' after a few years but that one doesn't!

  7. The Vow sounds kind of interesting :) I wonder if it ends with her recovering her memories, falling in love with the guy again, or falling for someone else. So curious. My fave romances are - The Princess by Lori Wick, Kate & Leopold and City of Angels (Meg Ryan had *such* great roles around this time), and I love the Will and Kate romance :) Plus, she's so pretty! Thanks for a chance to win If You Only Knew! My email's in the blogger profile (click on 'smiles' and then there's a link to email me on the left hand side of the page)

    1. Thanks for sharing! I have Kate & Leopold on DVD - it's still a wonderful film and has an unusual plot too. I enjoyed City of Angels but it made me cry the last time I watched it! The Vow is a fab film and it does keep you guessing about who she'll end up with right up to the end.
