About the book:
Amber’s making up the horoscopes for the local paper
and wishing for some excitement in her life when she gets a phone call offering
her just that. It could change her life forever and plunge her into a world
where she’s quickly (and scarily) out of her depth.
The call? Heartthrob actor Ennis McKarthy, her old
uni boyfriend, begs her for a favour. His brother Joel has been found is dead -
in very suspicious circumstances.
Desperate to keep the story out of the newspapers
and solve the mystery of his brother’s death as fast as possible, Ennis has
called in the specialists in the shape of the CCIA. The Celebrity Crimes
Investigation Agency has just the man for the job – their top agent Charlie
Huxton.
But Ennis, stalked by journalists and paparazzi,
doesn’t trust a stranger to handle the case on his own and keep quiet about
what he might discover so he pleads with Amber, wanting her to shadow Charlie
throughout the investigation.
Much to Amber’s surprise Charlie eventually agrees,
leaving her wondering why. What’s he up to?
Charlie and Amber delve into Joel’s death and soon
have their hands full with questioning potential suspects and the victim’s
irate ex-girlfriend.
Then they discover they’re battling something far more
dangerous than they could ever have expected…and it’s not just their growing
attraction for each other.
Maybe Amber’s life is about to get too exciting…
SNEAKY PEEK SNIPPETS FROM THE BOOK:
***************************
I slam on the brakes and
try to stop my car ploughing into Charlie’s which is now blocking the track up
ahead. Charlie is standing in front of it, hands on hips and an un-amused
expression on his face. I notice he doesn't even flinch as my car screeches to
a halt only a foot or so in front of him.
*********************
I watch in reluctant
admiration as he reverses the car at top speed and slings it into the pull-in
fifty yards down the lane in what seems like little more than a few seconds.
OK. Show-off. So he’s a better driver than me. Truth be told even Noddy in his
little red cartoon car is probably a better driver than me too, so the bar
isn’t set very high to start with, but CCIA Charlie certainly knows how to
handle a vehicle.
*************************
He nudges my knee in what
I’m amazed appears to be a playful gesture. How did this happen? Are we, just a
little, flirting? Maybe this is one of those ‘lull people into a false sense of
security to get answers out of them’ tactics. Like that smile of his. If it is,
then he doesn’t play fair.
“Come on,” he coaxes.
“I go by the name Madam
Zamber,” I reluctantly admit.
I stare at my knees but
out of the corner of my eyes I can see him lift a hand to his mouth, presumably
to hide a smirk.
“Madam Zamber eh?” He
twists back into his seat. “Nah, doesn’t suit you at all.”
“And why not?” I ask,
feeling a little indignant.
He shrugs. “Too boho for
you.”
“I can do boho!” I
protest.
He starts up the car. “I
get the feeling you can do whatever you want to.”
*************************
I try to look as though
I’m perfectly at ease with the concept of breaking and entering a quarry in the
middle of the night.
“Wow,” Charlie nods
approvingly. “You really carry off the cat burglar look very well.”
“Ha ha, very funny!” I do
a little twirl in my black stretch jeans, close fitting black jumper and flat
black boots. I fix a brave smile on my face but inside I’m a nervous wreck. My
whole body is quivering with nerves. And cold. The temperature has plummeted
and I’m desperately trying to stop my teeth chattering.
******************
“Help!” I shout into the
phone again in desperation.
Did he hear me? Did it
make any kind of sense to him? I press the phone more closely to my ear and
strain to listen. More crackles and then I think I hear the end of Charlie’s
reply.
On my way.
The phone goes dead. I
hope Charlie did just say those words and they weren't a wishful figment of my
imagination.

Fancy reading the book? You do, thanks very much!
Have a great day!
From the reviews for And The Earth Moved:
"Addictive new series, approach only if you are willing to read into the early hours of the morning!!!"
“The book is witty and light, with non-stop action and plenty of romance. I love the way the characters play off of each other, especially the leads. My next read will be book 2 in the series, PRECIOUS. I can’t wait to find out what happens to Amber and Charlie next!”
“Excellent book could not put it down. The combination of murder mystery AND romance brilliant. Look forward to reading book 2.”
